Therapeutic work in a facilitated group
Small groups led by a clinical psychologist, where structured guidance and shared experience support reflection, learning and connection.
Group therapy brings together a small number of people working on related concerns. Sessions are facilitated by Attiqa Aslam and follow a clear structure, with agreed boundaries around confidentiality, respect and participation.
Groups are not a substitute for individual therapy and are not appropriate for everyone. Suitability is considered during an initial consultation, taking into account your concerns, comfort with a group setting and current circumstances. Some clients attend group sessions alongside individual therapy; others attend one or the other.
As with all therapy, outcomes vary between individuals. The purpose of a group is to provide a supported environment for understanding and practice — not a guaranteed result.

What a therapeutic group can offer
Shared Understanding
Hearing others describe similar experiences can make private difficulties feel more understandable.
Emotional Support
A group offers encouragement and recognition alongside professional guidance.
Interpersonal Learning
Group interaction can reveal relational patterns that are harder to notice on your own.
Communication Skills
Members practise expressing needs, setting boundaries and listening within a safe setting.
Reduced Isolation
Emotional difficulty is often isolating; shared space can lessen that sense of being alone with it.
Structured Guidance
Sessions are facilitated throughout, with clear agreements on confidentiality and conduct.
